COMMON QUESTIONS

How should I prepare for my treatment?

If you are prone to cold sores, we recommend speaking with your physician about taking an antiviral medication such as Zovirax or Valtrex prior to treatment.

Discontinue retinol products and prescription tretinoin at least 5 days before your appointment. Avoid alcohol the evening before treatment and arrive with clean skin whenever possible. If you have received Botox, fillers, or threads, you must wait at least 2 weeks before undergoing treatment. Most clients do not require numbing for treatments performed at 0.25 mm, though it is available if desired.

How many treatments will I need?

Treatment recommendations vary depending on your goals and skin concerns. While many clients begin with a series of 4 treatments, some may require more or fewer sessions. Your esthetician will create a personalized treatment plan and recommend maintenance treatments to help preserve your results.

How long should I wait between treatments?

For most clients, treatments are performed every 4 weeks to allow the skin adequate time to heal and regenerate.

Can I receive treatment if I have acne?

Clients with active, inflamed acne should first focus on reducing inflammation and bringing breakouts under control before beginning treatment.

What is the downtime?

Most clients experience mild redness, warmth & tightness. Slight swelling can occur but is very rare and usually only for 24 hours.

You must wait at least 90 minutes before applying anything to the skin other than the products provided by your esthetician, including sunscreen, moisturizer, or makeup.

What can I expect immediately after treatment?

Responses vary from person to person. Some clients experience only mild pinkness, while others may appear noticeably flushed. The treated area may feel warm or resemble a mild sunburn for several hours. Temporary redness, swelling, and minor pinpoint scabbing are normal and typically resolve within a few days.

What do you recommend for post-treatment care?

For the first week, use a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and your Aftercare products as directed. After one week, a gentle manual exfoliation may be introduced to help remove dry, flaky skin. Approximately two weeks after treatment, we recommend an Express Iderm Facial (Wrap & Zap) to support healing, hydration, and continued skin rejuvenation.
